New cable ferry for Glade

A local rural director would like to see the province’s rationale for deciding on another cable ferry for Glade rather than a bridge.

Glade is among the three local communities that will see their ageing inland ferries replaced by new ones in the next few years.

Andy Davidoff says they have received an information sheet from the Ministry giving some initial details.

He’d like to see the financials when weighed against long-term operation of a ferry.

But Davidoff says it’s good news to be getting a new vessel that can take more vehicles and that will also see the landings improved on either side of the river.
