Nelson adult care facility set to re-open

The popular Broader Horizons adult day facility in Nelson will re-open next month.

It was forced to close for the summer months after the departure of two of their four full-time staff.

Interior Health’s Cheryl Whittleton says they have secured a new full-time staffer although they’re always looking for casuals too.

Some in the community raised concerns about the long-term future of the adult day care which has around 40 clients with mobility and other issues.

But Whittleton says the closure was always temporary while they sought the qualified care aid staff.
