Motorcyclist dies after hitting cow

A motorcyclist has died on Highway 3 in the Boundary after hitting a cow.

Sergeant John Ferguson with West Kootenay Traffic Services says they sometimes see tragic outcomes with wildlife but it’s rare for a domestic animal to be hit.

It happened around 10:40 Monday night near Eholt Road.

The other rider – who was out in front – was not hurt.

Ferguson says the local farmer is fully co-operating with the police investigation.
