Family Residency Program takes flight in Trail

If you see some new faces in your doctor’s offices or hospitals they may be the future of local rural medicine.

The first four candidates of the UBC Family Medicine Residency Program have started in our area.

These doctors-in-training are now into their final two years before qualifying and it’s hoped they will be encouraged to stay local.

Program director Dr Cheryl Hume in Trail says there has been a very welcoming spirit among local communities and agencies to let these candidates feel welcomed and valued.
