Rural wildfires continue to burn

There are a number of other large fires burning in remote rural areas.

The 260 hectare Paulson Pass fire near highway 3 has 30 personnel and 2 helicopters involved.

The Deer Park Creek wildfire 30km north west of Castlegar is 560 hectares.

And there’s a fire 10km west of Rossland.

As for the very big complex fire south of the border, there are plans being drawn up if that blaze gets any closer.

Information Officer Karlie Shaughnessy says the closest part of that stickpin fire in Washington State is 6km away.
