Large US wildfire continues to grow

The very big wildfire burning south of the border in the US has grown to over 41,000 acres.

The Stickpin fire is part of the Kettle Complex fire and remains 6km south of Grand Forks.

Public meetings were held in Grand Forks and Christina Lake last night briefing residents on possible evacuation plans and routes, should this be necessary.

The US Forest Service says the fire is expected to remain active over the next few days.
