Saturday update: helicopters used in Stickpin blaze as smoke eases

The evacuation alert for homes in southern rural Grand Forks and Christina Lake remain in effect because of the Stickpin wildfire burning about 4.5km across the border in Washington State.

But the increase in winds allowed helicopters to take part in the battle as some of the smoky conditions eased.
