Celgar Pavilion open

After 3 years of hard work the Celgar Pavilion at Millenium Park is open.

The project was made possible by a number of sponsors including Zelstoff-Celgar, City of Castlegar, CBT, a number of local rotary clubs and others.

There was a grand opening Friday which featured guest speakers from many of the sponsoring bodies on hand as well as a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Dave Kravski of the Castlegar Rotary Evening Club says it looked like there wouldn’t be enough money to fund the project at one point, but others stepped in.

Kravski adds the pavilion carries a price-tag of nearly $500,000 dollars.

It is located just north of the swimming ponds.
