Employment opportunities in Kootenays

There is a demand for skilled workers in our region.

This from the Lower Columbia Initiatives Corporation.

They say the Community Skills Center in Trail has posted 1,100 different job openings since January.

Economic Development Officer Terry Van Horn explains some of the more common vacancies.

She adds that medical professionals are a focal point for recruitment.

According to the BC Labour Market the Kootenays are expected to see an increase of nearly 4,700 jobs by 2020.
