A Nelson city councillor is pleased with the response to her on-line survey of home-based businesses.

Anna Purcell received 273 responses and is now compiling the data.

Purcell says home-based businesses are a significant part of the local economy but we don’t know a lot about them.

One finding is that collectively they’re among the biggest employers in town.
