Awaiting province’s word on bridge

As the 3 sewer partners await word from the province, the Mayor of Warfield acknowledges they’re between a rock and a hard place regarding the proposed bridge in Trail.

Ted Pahl says it really is up to the province now to decide if they will allow their hasty borrowing request of $3 million dollars more, totaling over $7 million, for the sewer component.

Pahl believes the province understands the predicament facing Trail, Rossland and Warfield.

Rossland has expressed concerns about the lack of public process over the new borrowing amount.

The crossing would cost $14.5 million dollars because of the extra walkway component which Trail alone would pay for.
