A local lumber mill is calling more investment on wood product innovation a good thing.
Ken Kalesnikoff, president of Kalesnikoff Lumber, is speaking to the $2.2 million from the government into research and marketing of new value-added ideas.
His mill produces special laminated products and he’s looking at some other ideas in the engineered wood field.
Kalesnikoff says any time the government helps companies to innovate that means they can produce more with less and maximize value from their fibre basket.
