Fishing ban ends

The BC Government has declared an end to the fishing bans on rivers and streams in the western part of our region.

Angling on the Similkameen, Kettle and West Kettle rivers and tributaries had been off-limits since mid July following the long, hot and dry spring and summer.

Fish were endangered because of the low flows and high water temperature.

Effective immeidately these waterways are reopened in accordance with the latest freshwater fishing regulations.
