A commercial logging crew is moving into Rosemont’s Art Gibbon Park in Nelson.
Kalesnikoff Lumber has bought a number of old trees that were ripped out by the mega summer storm or that were cut down as danger trees.
Nelson fire fighter and Fire Smart Coordinator Scott Jeffery says local residents will notice the work through next week.
The public needs to stay out of the area for safety reasons.
Jeffery says the removal of the logs is the last stage of the clean-up which will return the park to its Fire Smart status after thinning-out work back in 2011.
