The RDCK’s upgrades to the Balfour Waste Transfer station are nearly complete.
The facility will re-open October 3rd after an 8 week closure.
The site now has a weigh scale and new waste bins.
These bins are part of a new compacting waste system which will reduce costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
The upgrade follows similar ones at the Kaslo Transfer Station earlier this summer.
