Creston welcomes electric cars to re-charge

Creston has joined a network of communities offering public electric car chargers.

Two have been installed at the Chamber of Commerce and another in the Cook Street parking lot.

Mayor Ron Toyota says the initiative comes from the Highway 3 Mayor’s Coalition Group.

The goal is to build an electric highway from Hope-Princeton to the Alberta Border.

The cost of the units is covered through a partnership with Sun Country Highway.

And the RDCK is picking up the tab for the installations by sourcing economic development dollars.
