Decorative lighting next year for Victoria Street Bridge

Decorative lighting planned for Trail’s Victoria Street Bridge will be put on hold until next year.

The project will be considered for the city’s capital plan for 2016.

City Councilor Sandy Santori says it’ll go to tender.

He adds the project has already been backed by significant funding.

But the cost estimates have risen from $380,000 to nearly $500,000.

Work on the bridge had been planned for this fall, but council feels it is too late in the year to start now.
