It’s not even Halloween but local highways contractor Emcon is already thinking about winter.
Division manager Ken Lawson says conditions may be okay down low but it’s a different story on the mountain passes.
Emcon has been pre-treating upper elevations and high humidity areas prone to ice with salt brine.
Lawson says we’ve had freezing temperatuers with dew points close enough to cause ice in some areas.
