Restrictions eased for open fires in Kootenay-Boundary

Restrictions have eased on Category 3 fires in the Kootenay-Boundary.

Open fires of 2m in height and 3m width are now ok but you are reminded to be aware of wind patterns while burning.

This from Karlie Shaughnessy, Fire Information Officer with BC Wildfire Service.

She says the latest ease on open fire restrictions comes as the risk for wildfires has decreased.

Anybody conducting a Category 3 fire requires a burning registration number.
