Castlegar mulls curbside garbage cut

Should Castlegar take after Nelson and switch it’s waste collection system to two week intervals?

There will be a round of public consultation Tuesday at Castlegar Community Forum to give the public a chance to voice their opinion. That’s from 5:30 pm till 7 pm this evening. There will also be a presentation.

Here’s councilor Kevin Chernoff.

Chernoff says the open house will go a long way in helping council reach a decision.

The aim of switching to a two week system is to save money, keep as much waste as possible out of the landfill and reduce wildlife conflict.
