IHA reminding folks to get flu shot

Interior Health is reminding people it’s not too late to get their flu shot.

As folks gather during the holiday season, the potential for the spread of influenza increases.

IHA recommends the shot as the safest and most effective way to prevent you from getting influenza as well as spreading it.

Symptoms often include sudden high fever, headache, fatigue and weakness, a runny, stuffy nose, sneezing, and sore throat.

In some cases, it can lead to more severe illness such as pneumonia and even death.

The flu shot is still available at pharmacies, physician offices and through local public health centres.
