Car stolen on test drive

A Nelson woman has had her car stolen on a test drive.

Nelson police say on Tuesday late afternoon she met two people who’d responded to an online ad.

They took it on a test drive and never brought it back.

Police have identified the suspects.

The NPD says always meet potential buyers of your vehicle in a public place, tell a friend where you’re going and get ID and a deposit before allowing them to drive it.

Do not accompany people on the test drive.
