The dangerous drug Fentanyl has a presence in our area , but there are groups available to help users stay safe.

Alex Sherstobitoff is a community engagement organizer with ANKORS an organization dedicated to helping foster healthy, informed communities.

Fentanyl is so strong it can lead to sudden death.

Castlegar city council briefly discussed the issue last week and wants more awareness and programs to help keep users safe.

Sherstobitoff says an important step is for people not to use the drug when they’re alone.
