Conroy reaches out to ministries on Oasis groundwater issue

One of our local MLA’s is hoping to get to the bottom of the cause of why a family had to evacuate their house in Oasis near Trail.

Groundwater running through the community appears to have destabilized the soil under a home where it’s residents were told it was unsafe.

West Kootenay New Democrat Katrine Conroy wants to have a professional assess the situation.

Many residents are calling for a proper drainage system to serve the area.

Conroy says there is a high level concern among residents as some fear their property is in danger.

Various provincial ministries have stated no other properties are at immediate risk.
