Salmo to get FireSmart

With the ongoing effects of global warming and last year’s wildfires still fresh in our minds , now is the time for neighbours to help neighbours in the old fashioned way.

This from David Hearn – Salmo Volunteer Fire Dept Chief and FireSmart rep.

He’s encouraging groups of 20 homes or more to work collectively to clean-up a specific area and reduce the risk of a blaze this summer.

Hearn is available through Salmo Village Hall and will work with groups of residents to advise them on how best to do their community clean-up.
