An error in Castlegar’s Integrated Pest Management Plan has prompted an apology from the city.
This as a non organic herbicide was used to treat Kinsmen Park, an area which was earmarked for organic treatment only.
Director Of Transportation And Civic Works Chris Barlow says this was an oversight.
Furthermore, the city was required to give residents one week’s notice for any treatment undertakings, but that did not happen in this instance.
The city is taking steps to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
