Nelson tightens dog bylaw wording

The city of Nelson is tightening up a loop hole in its new dog bylaw.

While dog owners are complying with the need to have their pet on a leash at all times some aren’t actually holding on to that leash.

Here’s councillor Robin Cherbo.

The bylaw has been clarified by making it clear the person responsible for the dog must have hold of the leash.

The aim is to prevent dogs getting out of control in the downtown or at city parks.
