Tim Hortons coming to Grand Forks

Grand Forks city council has approved their first major commercial development in a long time.

The empty lot on highway three between 25th and 27th streets is the proposed location for a new Esso gas station and Tim Hortons.

Mayor Frank Konrad is confident the arrival of bigger brand names will not hurt local businesses.

Konrad hopes this move will encourage others to see the business potential of Grand Forks.

Construction is planned to begin on the new gas station and restaurant this summer.
