Back to the drawing board for Nelson mural project?

It may be back to the drawing board for the proposed mural project on the walls of the old Civic Arena in Nelson. By a narrow margin, Council chose not to allocate it any money until its scope has been thrashed out between the Sports Council and Cultural Development Committee. Councillor Donna MacDonald: The initial proposal has a total $100,000 price tag which Council figures is too high. That’s why an arts jury chose not to support it for recent CBT funding. But the City awarded it $10,000 anyway and could still allocate some money for phase one from a reserve fund for special projects.
