Kaslo interested in biomass energy

The Regional Director for rural Kaslo remains interested in the possibilities of biomass energy.

Aimee Watson brought the subject up following a recent presentation by the Interior Lumber Manufacturers.

Watson says a feasibility study was done in her area in 2010 on how to use debris for energy but they’ve since lost both mills and tenure.

She thinks a biomass project would have to be done on a more regional scale to be successful.
