Sartorial nod to Castlegar councillor

Castlegar city council has paid tribute to their recently departed colleague.

Monday night was the first council meeting since councilor Kevin Chernoff’s sudden passing a few weeks ago.

To honor him the mayor and council donned bow-ties. Here’s councilor Sue Heaton-Sherstobitoff.

Heaton-Sherstobitoff says they put a bow-tie in front of his name plate at his seat at the council table.

The mayor had some kind words to say about Chernoff during the meeting.

She adds it was difficult knowing he wasn’t just on vacation and won’t coming back.
