Fuel shortage hits Kootenays

Folks looking to gas up at Petro Canada stations in our region are out of luck.

The pumps have now run dry in Creston, Nelson, Castlegar and Grand Forks.

This is also the case in Kelowna and Kamloops as well as parts of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

The company says the fires in Fort Mcmurray and an unplanned outage at an Edmonton refinery have contributed to the shortage.

Petro Canada says a team is dedicated to addressing the issue.
