Eco Society launches renewable energy plan

One of the most influential environmental organisations in our region has kicked off a bold long-term initiative.

The West Kootenay Eco Society aims to have the region transition from fossil fuels to 100% renewable energy by the year 2050.

Executive Director Montana Burgess says transit will play a major role in the next 34 years.

Burgess says the society will conduct research on next steps.

They’ll also work to find communities, residents, businesses and organizations that support the transition to 100% renewable energy.
