Creston area woman wants fireworks banned

A Creston-area woman has started an online petition to have fireworks banned in the RDCK.

Anna Van Tunen, who lives in area B, says a July 1st private fireworks display in her neighbourhood spooked her horses two years ago.

After failing to have them banned under an RDCK noise bylaw, she recently launched the petition over growing concern for animal welfare.

And it’s seen upwards of 250 signatures from locals and around the world.

Van Tunen plans to conduct a survey on the proposed ban prior to sending a letter to the RDCK board.
