Fundraising begins on Slocan Valley housing project

The Slocan Valley Seniors Housing Society has launched a website as it prepares for a major fundraiser.

President Rita Moir says the hike or bike for housing takes places Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.

Track and field star Don Currie is also collecting pledges for the 50-kilometer hike.

The money will go toward building a seniors housing complex in Slocan.
