There’s a small problem with Toadfest — the guests of honour are nowhere to be seen.
The annual family event is on today and tomorrow at Summit Lake Provincial Park near Nakusp.
But Angus Glass with the Fish and Wildlife Compensation program says the toadlets are refusing to come out.
Breeding started early this year so their migration was expected to be well underway by now.
Glass says the event is still a good chance to learn about the challenges the western toad faces.
It runs from 4 to 7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon tomorrow.
