Additional money for Farmers’ Market Nutrition coupon program

A financial boost for some low income families in our region.

The BC government is sinking another $1-million dollars into the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program.

The initiative helps low-income families have easier access to locally grown fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, eggs, dairy, nuts and herbs.

They receive $15 worth of coupons that can be used at a participating market.

The program runs from June through October.

The Creston Valley Farmers’ Market, Nelson’s Cottonwood Community Market and Kaslo’s Artisans’ and Farmers’ Market all participate in the program.
