Dispensary weighs in on new medicinal marijuana regs

A mixed reaction from a local medicinal cannabis dispensary on Canada’s new rules around medical marijuana.

The change allows authorized patients to grow their own limited amount for personal use, or designate a grower to produce it for them.

Executive Director of Kootenay’s Medicine Tree, Jim Leslie calls it an important step forward.


However, Leslie says Health Canada’s refusal to work with dispensaries and compassion clubs is a major concern.

The new regulations take effect on August 24th.
