Nelson pool to extend Sunday hours

When the Nelson aquatic centre reopens in October it will have slightly longer hours.

It’ll be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

Before closing for renovations last year it didn’t open until 1 p.m. on Sundays.

It’s the last vestiges of cuts to the facility’s hours made a decade ago.

The new hours will cost more in staffing but they’ll break even if 32 people show up during that time.

It’s for a six-month trial.
