Jim Gouk bids political farewell to Stephen Harper

A past Conservative MPĀ from the Kootenays is bidding Stephen Harper a fond farewell from politics.

Jim Gouk served with the future prime minister in the House of Commons from 1993 to 1997 and 2002 to 2006.

He brought Harper to Castlegar a couple of times and encouraged him to seek the party leadership.

Harper resigned his Calgary seat last week to go into private consulting.
