Ainsworth Hot Springs pioneer dies

A woman who did a lot to preserve the history of Ainsworth Hot Springs has died.

Mavis Stainer was 94. Her father J.B. Fletcher ran the store there for decades.

Friend Barb Neelands says it was Stainer’s idea to turn it into a museum in the 1980s.

Stainer also looked after the historic Ainsworth cemetery.

Her service will be held there Sept. 24.
