Castlegar seeks $260,000 for airport plan

A plan to make the West Kootenay Regional Airport more reliable will cost $260,000.

Castlegar is asking neighbouring areas to chip in as they commission Jeppeson Aviation to do the work.

Mayor Lawrence Chernoff says they’ll take whatever they can get.

Chernoff says the city will pay the whole tab itself if it has to.

The study is expected to take nine months.
