Nelson Youth Soccer pitches turf field

The Nelson Youth Soccer Association wants to build an artificial turf field.

President Kerry Dyck says it would likely go on or near the Mary Hall field by the Tenth Street campus.

Dyck says it would extend their season and also let them play when rain closes the lakeside fields.

They’ve had some preliminary discussions with Selkirk College and the City of Nelson and pitched the idea to council this week.
