There’s a proposal to keep Nelson’s campground open over the winter to help with the city’s housing crunch.
John Alton of the Nelson housing committee says there’s already a line-up of people who would use it.
Alton says the office would require some winterizing but the cost could be recouped through campground fees.
He also notes winter campgrounds exist in Fernie and Revelstoke.
The housing committee has asked the city to explore the idea.
Normally the campground closes in mid-October.
