Nelson pool re-opening now set for Oct. 20

The re-opening of the Nelson aquatic centre has been pushed back again — but only by a few days.

The pool, which has been closed for more than a year for renovations, will now be available as of Oct. 20.

Manager Marty Benson says they’re just finishing the tiling work.

Benson says the delay was due to some unforeseen problems.

He says once the renos are done there shouldn’t be another prolonged closure for decades.

A community celebration is planned for Oct. 23.
