Feds to help pay for Silver King upgrades

The federal government has come to the table with funding for the Selkirk College Silver King campus upgrades.

Advanced Education Minister Andrew Wilkinson made the announcement during today’s groundbreaking.

He says Ottawa will put up nearly $6 million dollars through a new post-secondary investment fund.

The province’s share has now been reduced to a little over $10 million from an earlier commitment of $14 million.

The project will see three trades buildings re-purposed and another building replaced.
