The latest social media fad is being used by Castlegar for a summer initiative aimed at promoting the community.
It’s called the Hashtag Castlegar Selfie Initiative and it encourages residents and toursits to take a picture of themselves in front of their favorite area.
Councillor Kevin Chernoff says you then upload the photo to Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag – Castlegar Selfie.
He says its easy and fun.
Chernoff suggests there are many things around the City you can incorporate into your selfie like Sculpturewalk or the suspenion bridge.
Participants can win Castlegar swag.
