Union Rep: latest employer move hurts students

A local Teachers Union Rep says the partial lock-out stance by the School Employers Association leaves him scratching his head.

Paul Boscariol – the President of the Nelson and District Teachers Association -says the move to keep teachers out of BC’s schools next week until 45 minutes before and after class flies in the face of doing what’s best for students.

He says he has no idea how exam marking and report cards will be effected with secondary teachers facing a full lock-out June 25th and 26th.

Kootenay Lake teachers will join their Boundary colleagues in a one-day strike Wednesday, with the Kootenay-Columbia and Arrow Lakes teachers off the job Tuesday.
