You’re being asked to help the Nelson fire department by digging out any snow-covered hydrants near your house.
Chief Len  MacCharles says if you can clear about a meter around them it would be greatly appreciated.
Maccharles says buried hydrants can cause a serious delay in responding to a fire.
There are 344 hydrants in Nelson.
