The City of Nelson has so far received 27 business license applications from short-term rentals.
That follows the adoption of new rules last year that limited their density and total number.
Development services manager Pam Mierau is a bit surprised there haven’t been more applications.
Mierau says if your rental doesn’t meet all the requirements you could still apply for a variance.
She says within a couple of months they will be taking enforcement against unlicensed rentals.
